The California Native Plant Wiki is an information resource created by the Theodore Payne Foundation to help you garden with California native plants. This Wiki is comprised of two main parts. The California Native Plant Library provides specific cultural information on hundreds of different species and cultivars. The Planting Guides provide suggestions and ideas to solve a wide range of garden needs. The Theodore Payne Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the use and understanding of California's extraordinary flora. These plant descriptions are drawn from the placards in our nursery. This information has been developed by the Foundation over many years. To ensure that the information in our nursery and on this Wiki are consistent, plant description pages are not open for editing by the general public. Your comments are greatly appreciated on the "Discussion" tab for any plant, however. Pertinent and useful information will be incorporated over time on the plant description page and on our nursery placards.
