Species Name: Fremontodendron californicum ssp. napensis
Common Name: Napa Fremontia

A Fremontia native to the Napa region, with small dark green leaves and bright gold flowers. This fremontia is typically smaller and more open in form than the species, with much smaller leaves and flowers. The current Jepson does not recognize this subspecies, but the form is different enough that it is more widely recognized.
