- From California Native Plants, Theodore Payne's 1941 catalog: Forms a spreading bushy plant 3 to 5 feet high with gray green stems and foliage. Flowers large, clear rich yellow on long naked stems and very showy. Easy to grow and under cultivation the plants flower for along time. The flowers are unsurpassed for cutting and last a long time in water. Gallon cans, 50c."
