Wildlife Value: Attracts butterflies and seed eaters. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the flowers for nectar, also a host for caterpillars. Birds like the seeds.  Also offers some cover.
 

Description:

Lovely foliage and bold flowers for dry well-drained spot. Becomes woody at the base. Very different from the creeping ground-cover Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), which flowers white, pink, or red. Yellow Achillea is a European import.
