On Tour: Sunday, April 13

Encino (Site #23)

This 42,400-square-foot hillside of black walnut and toyon woodland with lupine meadows was first supplemented with natives in 1998 by its late homeowner Jacquelin Molinaro. Ms. Molinaro (1923-2008), a TPF member since the 1980s, will be missed and is remembered for inspiring another generation of native plant enthusiasts. The slope is now profuse with annuals, perennials and mature riparian trees, with hiking paths that thread through the blooms.
